I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but I enjoyed it a lot! Established relationship stories aren't my go-to, but I charmed by how well the characters and their relationship came across on the page. Plus, even though they are already a couple, it's clear to see they still need to grow into their relationship more, and I'm excited to watch that play out across the volumes.Each chapter basically follows them as they explore a different location. They meet people living there, try local cuisine, visit popular destinations, etc. It made me want to travel too!With travel as the backdrop, we learn more about the two leads and their history together, even as new questions arise. (What's the deal with this alluded-to medical trouble? Why did he quit his job? How did they end up becoming a couple? Why are they traveling the world before getting married? And my most pressing question: how the heck are they affording this trip???)I liked that the story feels very grounded. The characters feel like real people, even the folks who only show up for a chapter, and the problems they face also felt real. The mangaka definitely gave consideration to how queer folks move through the world while writing this.Overall, I'd describe this as "What Did You Eat Yesterday? but replace home cooking with globe trotting." Asahi and Mitsuki seem to have been together for a while.. but the book only hints at their past and is more interested in their present trip. They are off on the first leg of their “round the world” tour.Mitsuki is a photographer and Asahi just had surgery (they aren't telling us yet what happened) but with Asahi worried about their future and heavily closeted in their relationship, Mitsuki wants to step up and step out and end their mind broadening trip with their own wedding to secure the future for then both.Can Asahi really come out at home when he can barely admit they are a couple to strangers?This one turns out to be really sweet. The art isn't “beautiful” but I really like the characters.I’m really looking forward to book 2.
