I first read this 46 years ago. I had recently graduated from high school (in fact, I think the book was a gift), and I've realized over the years that it helped shape who I became. I've given a few copies of it since then, but lost mine long ago. I recently ordered a copy for myself (along with a few to give away), and in re-reading it I confirmed that it did set the stage for many decisions I've made along the way. There are many valuable lessons in this book - and the illustrations make it a fun read too. I purchased this a few days ago in the Kindle format. I had been familiar with the book from back in the 70's but had never owned a copy and frankly had forgotten about this book until it showed up on my screen while I was checking out another book. I decided to purchase it in digital format to have on my Kindle and Kindle app on my devices. This book is difficult to read in Kindle format first and foremost in my opinion. On my Paperwhite Kindle you can only read in horizontal position. In the Kindle app, you can read vertically but because of the layout of the print and illustrations that accompany the text of this publication, it's just spread out and for me it's the reason I've returned my digital copy of this book. I will now go and purchase the actual book to enjoy it in the correct and proper format it was designed to be read in. I just wanted to share my experience in buying this in the digital format for Kindle and Kindle app on other devices. This is a great book that I will more than likely re-read many times & it will be nice to do that being able to see the text and illustrations as they were meant to be read and seen.
